  12. Financial and Corporate Controller -Affordable Multifamily Housing Management Corporate Office - Duluth, GA

    Mansermar, Inc. is looking for a results-driven, extremely capable and organized Financial Controller to manage and improve our organization’s financial performance and assist in directing our accounting and business operations. We are looking for an articulate, energetic, focused, and talented professional to join our team and help lead the company to improved efficiency and financial performance.

    Duties for the Financial Controller will include managing the corporate accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, and preparing financial statements.  This individual is responsible for corporate accounting operations and will assist in oversight of property financial operations to include analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditures, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.

    The Financial Controller will support the President and Vice-President of Operations in various aspects of the financial and regulatory requirements.  This individual’s expertise in accounting and finance and support in strategic planning will aid our organization in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth, formulating sound financial strategies, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and developing financial plans that support the company’s mission and goals.

    The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized, and have excellent leadership skills. The  Financial Controller will be responsible for streamlining our accounting functions and operations, providing financial analysis and reports, training staff on business finance issues, promoting regulatory compliance, and driving income generation.

    Financial Controller Responsibilities:

    Responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing corporate financial reports, payment of corporate bills including estimated taxes and distributions.

    Responsible for all aspects of Corporate accounting, including billing the portfolio of properties for any reimbursables, as well as collecting and depositing these payments.

    Responsible for maintaining all Corporate records, minutes, business licenses, annual registrations and reports and ensuring they are filed timely.

    Responsible for analyzing financial data, as needed to support the President and Vice-President of Operations

    Responsible for monitoring internal controls and streamlining accounting functions and operations to ensure efficiency and full compliance with regulatory agencies and partner requirements. Must evaluate and manage risk of the company’s financial operations.

    Responsible for ensuring filing of annual corporate tax returns and property tax returns. Must coordinate with the Outside CPA’s for the filing of the returns for the property

    Responsible for maintaining the corporate accounts for several of the Non-profit Owners who own properties managed by Mansermar. Must create and   maintain the minutes for one of the Non-profit Owners and obtain signatures of Board members approving the minutes.

    Responsible for preparing required documents for Insurance renewals as requested by Carriers.

    Responsible for reporting to HUD including updating HUD Form 2530’s and maintaining the Owner entity information in the HUD APPS system.

    Responsible for the administration of on-line banking, responsible for approvals of wires and other banking responsibilities such as opening and closing accounts, updating signature cards, and updating corporate information.

    Responsible to assist in oversight of the finance and accounting for the properties managed by Mansermar to include participating in budgeting processes, reviewing and authorizing expenditures, preparing income statements, and recommending and implementing process improvements.

    Responsible for coordinating the audit processes for the properties in the company’s portfolio.

    Responsible for the oversight of the 401K plan to include reporting, communications, and audit.

    Responsible for oversight and support/backup for Human Resources.

    Financial Controller Requirements:

    Degree in Accounting(preferred) or equivalent work experience.

    Experience in the affordable housing industry or real estate is a plus.

    Proven experience in finance management with a strong financial and accounting background.

    Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals to include an understanding of profit and loss, budget management, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.

    Working experience in corporate governance and proven negotiation skills.

    Compliance oriented, superior analytical skills with the ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.

    Exceptional high integrity in all professional responsibilities.

    Ability to inspire confidence and create trust. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong leadership qualities.

    Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate.

    Organized approach to project management, including a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

    Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office programs to include word and Excel.
